Little girl on the way (by liz)

A couple of weeks ago I met up with my very, very good friends Amy & Mike to take a few maternity portraits. First a little back story. About, oh, 4 months ago or so Amy and I had a "discussion" as to when to take her maternity portraits. I was voting for late May and she was thinking more around early April would be appropriate. I was afraid she wouldn't look pregnant enough and she was worried about looking too pregnant. So after a few negotiations (she used to give in to me all the time - I don't know what has happened lately!) we settled on May 11th...mothers day. What day could be more fitting for our little outing? Well, dare I say I'm VERY glad we waited until at least mid May because Amy still has what most people would refer to as a "cute little bump." We met up at Amy's parent's house and after rearranging some furniture we were well on our way to some beautiful photos. I could not be happier for two of my very best friends. You guys will be wonderful parents, and I am so excited for you both! However that does not mean I change diapers. :)

photography workshop weekend (by kristie)

I headed up to Chicago this past weekend for a photography workshop by the fabulous Audrey Woulard. She is an amazing children's photographer in Chicago and a really fun, sweet person. I also had the pleasure of meeting some great photographers from all over the US and Canada. It was a great weekend with information overload that I loved! Here are a few of my favorite shots...

Birth Announcement Cards (by kristie)

So, I've been silent for a while... Man where does the time go? My husband Mike and I escaped to Europe for a couple weeks and had a fabulous vacation. I took too many photos as predicted, but will share a couple favorites once I dig through them! (I like how Liz called me out on the last post ;)

In the meantime, I wanted to share this birth announcement that I made for cute, little Gage a while back. It still hangs on my fridge because he is so darn cute.

If you're looking for some birth announcements, birthday invites, baby shower invites, grad announcements that are packed full of photos (instead of the standard one side, one photo in a square), keep L PHOTOGRAPHIE in mind!

Valerie & Bob (by liz)

So how about this rain?! St. Louis has been under siege by the rain gods for about as long as my tiny brain can remember...approximately 3 months to be exact. But every now and then the clouds part, the wind stops and we have an absolutely beautiful spring day to enjoy a nice romp in the park. Check out Valerie & Bob's engagement session from a couple of weeks ago. And Kristie and her husband are back from their European vacation so be on the look out for some kick ass photos from Kris soon!

Dawn & Joe at the Zoo (by liz)

I have been a very bad blogger this spring - please forgive my absence! We have just been so busy that it's been tough to find the time...but no excuses right? So let's start here...Dawn & Joe on April 19th. They didn't actually get married on April 19, we just took some fun photos and had a great party at the St. Louis Zoo! They were married in Mexico...I really need to get in on some beach wedding gigs so I can come back looking like this! The whole family returned to St. Louis relaxed, tanned and beautiful ready to celebrate. They had animal greeters at the door - a fox, oppossum and owl to be exact. Owl pictured below...he looked really mad at me for taking his photo. I'm guessing witness protection program. The zoo offers animal adoption and the couple adopted a flamingo in remembrance of Dawn's father Tom. The favors were flamingo lollipops with tis meaningful note attached. More tropical details included luminaries and bright colored table cloths and centerpieces. I have two take aways from this evening I will never forget...by far the most spastic dancer of my wedding photography career goes to the best man who is also the brother of the groom. Wow. :) He can really get the dance floor going! And DJ Mark actually knew the ENTIRE Thriller dance. AND had people who actually tried to follow along...including the brother of the groom as previously mentioned. :) Congrats Dawn & Joe! It was a blast!
